Help.. Where do I start to teach multiplication to stage 1 (yr 1 & 2)?

First and foremost you have to teach the child to add,but I think the concept will be to complex at that age. I recommend that you wait until the child learns to speak and comprehend simple problems. So teach them to count with something that they like such as carrots. Well the point is you should hold off on multiplication.
