How can I ask out my students dad and still stay professional?

I am a preschool teacher in a very very small remote town. One of my sweetest students father, who is of course single, I find to be attractive. I adore his child as a student, he's just such a great kid and that shows a lot about the parenting. Which nothing is more attractive than a good father. So I think my motives are quite genuine. My predicament is that I don't know how to approach the situation in a professional manner that won't embarrass him, or me, or make anything awkward. I hope he wouldn't think the care of his child might be compromised if he declines. I just need some ideas here....good guys are slim pickin.
