Solar Panels or photovoltaic cells to run your household electricity.?

I live in Perth, Western Australia. I was wondering if anyone could recommend or provide feedback on who you got your solar panels through and how good or bad are the panels? I am currently sorting through heaps of different solar providers but am bamboozled as who to go with.
